Happy Sunday! I am cleaning and tidying up a lot t Happy Sunday! I am cleaning and tidying up a lot today. Not all of the messes are as pretty as this one. But what I’ve found is that it is important to pause and notice the beauty around you.. even when you’re doing mundane housework all day. 🤍
Now here is the thing, I could do the classic mark Now here is the thing, I could do the classic marketing pitch and post some fear mongering messaging about Diastasis Recti (DR) and tell you how much you need this program and with this step by step guide it will solve all of your problems… but the truth is I’m not going to do that. Yeah, that marketing pitch (you’ve all seen it) may create more sales but at the end of the day it is spreading misinformation about DR and core exercises after pregnancy. This is not a one size fits all situation.

Abdominal Separation happens in all bodies that carry a pregnancy and Diastasis Recti simply can not be avoided by doing a certain program or not. There is a lot of research lacking in this area and we have a lot to learn still. To claim that your program or method can heal everyones DR after pregnancy is not accurate - This is not a one size fits all.

You know what I can provide you confidently in good conscious is accurate and empowering information about your Postnatal Core with the partnership of Dr. Hannah, pelvic floor physical therapist @awake.pelvichealth that doesn’t spread misinformation. This workshop is designed to give you up to date research and information on what happens to the core after pregnancy, what your true “core” really is, information on common challenges to look out for, how to properly use your core throughout your day to day actives to avoid pain, yoga and breathing exercises you can do in postnatal phases to support your healing.

This course is designed to empower you with information. Join us this Monday February 7th at 5:30pm or catch the recording and listen to it at your leisure. 🤍💪🏻
Postpartum is not 6 weeks. I truly believe that yo Postpartum is not 6 weeks. I truly believe that you are postpartum for life and the tenderness or shifting or this journey into this new role as mother is something that looks different in seasons or stages. It’s messy, hard and challenging… but there is nothing quite like that first year postpartum.

Expecting mothers need more guidance, education and support on what to prepare for so that they don’t feel whip lashed or fear mongered. I’ve been dreaming up a course for exactly this and I’m hopeful to be bringing it to all of you very soon.

Now, I have to ask.. what is something you wish you had more guidance, education or support around prior to being postpartum for the first time? Let me know in the comments. 🤍
Being held. There is nothing quite like it right? Being held. There is nothing quite like it right? We all need to feel held every once in a while, even mothers.
I asked you in stories to tell me what you would g I asked you in stories to tell me what you would gift to mothers everywhere or if you could take away something, what would it be… you said:

🤍 Don’t worry about the laundry today
🤍 Freedom to love themselves
🤍 Energy healing and quality physical therapy, if they don’t have access
🤍 Their favorite meal or snack that they won’t have to share with anyone
🤍 Give them more help
🤍 Five years paid maternity leave
🤍 Mental wellness
🤍 Magically make their anxiety and overwhelm go away
🤍 Take away comparison & give more power to their intuition
🤍 Paid maternity leave and sick child leave
🤍 Extra sleep & Quiet time
🤍 More recognition for stay at home mothers
🤍 Take away stress and give time
🤍 The “everything” part of keeping families going
🤍 Take away this pandemic!
🤍 One year paid maternity leave
🤍 Paid leave
🤍 Free Childcare
🤍 Encouragement and supportive community
🤍 Take away Worry

If I could wave a magic wand and give this to mothers every where I would. I do my very best to serve you here in this space and create wellness and empowerment for you during your journey of motherhood. I’m so glad that you are here! 🤍
Dear first time postpartum Ella, You are perfect Dear first time postpartum Ella,

You are perfect just the way you are. Your body is a warrior goddess for growing a human life and bringing that life into this world. It is forever changed for the better and you will be stronger and more resilient than you’ve ever been before… with time and the empowered with the right information.

Be kind and gentle with yourself. Stay in your peace bubble about all of the comments about your body even if people mean well.

Follow your intuition with movement and keep asking questions from your experts and lean into physical therapy. Recovery will take time and some is better than none. Don’t rush to get back to the movements you did prior to pregnancy.. rebuild slowly, mindfully and with the proper education you will soon learn! Don’t wait to empower yourself with information!

Remember your WHY. “I want a strong and functional core so I can live with less pain, move my body with joy and show up for my family in a supported and healthy way!” NOT look a certain way. Health is a feeling and that is WHY you do this despite what the world is telling you. 🙌🏻🤍

Lentil & Fennel Veggie Meatballs with Toasted Pinenut & Basil Pesto

A few years ago, I took a trip to New York City with my university to tour museums, boutique hotels and design schools. I had read about this new restaurant that had just opened up in the Lower East Side, and to my delight it was a menu of entirely...
